"Many UK firms struggle due to “accidental managers”, say HR experts
Newspage asked HR, skills and leadership experts whether UK businesses are managed well overall, and how competent management teams are in terms of leadership. The experts were also asked if leaders can be trained to be leaders or whether some people are naturally better at leading and managing businesses.
One said: “The lack of formal training among many leaders of UK companies is a ticking bomb for businesses”, while another added: “Closing the leadership gap is crucial to the UK economy's future performance. Many managers, though technically skilled, stumble when stepping into leadership roles. A third commented: “Many UK firms struggle due to “accidental managers”, namely people thrust into leadership without adequate training.”
