I advise small business owners to identify the time of day they have the most energy - and work on their most important tasks at that time.

If you're full of beans first thing, don't waste that energy checking emails or in Zoom meetings. Instead, write that marketing copy, or create that killer pitch, and save the dull-as-dishwater jobs for your least-energetic time of day.

Energy for human beings comes from the body, mind, emotions and spirit.

I bet that there is at least one you did not think about. Energy is defined as the capacity to work. And therefore, it can be increased and released by developing consistent actions and behaviours to enable us to do more with less.

We need to start shifting from getting more and more out of ourselves and investing in understanding energy management.

How to increase that energy, what of the four ways we can do that, what takes energy away from us, and how can we renew that energy?

There needs to be an understanding of the foundations of energy development. These are.

Sleep
Movement
Fuelling
Cognitive Performance
Mental Tolerance

Without these, we will struggle.

But we also must understand that our mind, emotions and spirit greatly influence our energy.

There a several psychological techniques that help to boost energy levels. For example, often, our perception of fatigue and low energy can be influenced by our thoughts and beliefs. Cognitive reframing helps you to challenge self-defeating thoughts related to low energy. Instead of thinking, "I'm so tired, I can't do anything," reframe it as, "I may feel tired right now, but I can take small steps to increase my energy levels." By reframing your thoughts, you can create a more positive and energizing mindset.

Practising mindfulness and relaxation techniques can help reduce stress and enhance energy levels. Techniques such as slow rhythmic breathing and meditation promote relaxation and improve overall well-being. Engaging in these practices regularly can help you manage stress, rejuvenate your mind and body, and increase your energy levels.

Finally, positive interactions with other people can boost your mood, increase motivation, and enhance your energy.

A powerful way to boost energy levels is to be barefoot in nature. Take off your shoes and socks and allow the soles of your feet to connect to mother earth. On grass, sand, in the woods - anywhere natural. This instantly connects you to the highest vibration that orchestrates all things that evolve our natural world while grounding you in your physical body. Practicing this daily will not only raise your energy, but keep your energy levels buoyant as you navigate the demands of life. If this isn’t possible then habitually, daily, break away from tasks that create overthinking 1) Pause 2) Take a deep breath 3) Feel your beating heart. This will help you distance from a busy mind, which demands your energy, into your heart where you can feel present in the moment, allowing the opportunity to rest and recharge. Even only a minute or two will help to reduce the cortisol levels in your body which depletes your energy, naturally allowing happy hormones to take over keeping your vibe high.
