Rachel Reeves will raise £8.3bn by freezing income tax thresholds, according to official forecasts published ahead of the Chancellor’s speech. The Office for Budget Responsibility said the freezes to personal thresholds would raise the sum by the 2029-30 financial year. "The Budget also raises taxes by amounts rising to £26bn in 2029-30, through freezing personal tax thresholds and a host of smaller measures," the report says.
