Sunday Mirror - Would you like to see a General Election called soon?

I'd very much like a General Election being called soon. Living in Scotland and owning a small business, it's already commonplace to feel that my needs are rarely listened to by Westminster. All the scandals in the Tory government, plus constant change of PM (none of which are voted for by the common folk), is the just the icing on a particularly rancid cake that just needs to be voted out.

Well, it's about time someone stirred the pot and called for an election. Businesses are right to demand certainty, but let's not kid ourselves—both major parties are a hot mess right now. The front benches resemble a dysfunctional family reunion more than competent leadership. Their core values are as synced as a broken record. As taxpayers, we're left stranded in this murky grey area, wondering whether to cling to the sinking ship of blue or jump into the uncharted waters of red. Perhaps a shake-up is just what we need, but with these options, it feels more like choosing between two poisons.

I understand strategically why the Conservatives haven't gone to the public yet, they are hoping that they can confirm economy-saving news, and dragging it out "might" bring this. Sadly the longer the Tories are delaying the general public seem to learn more on how so many areas have been mismanaged while they have held the reigns. For us we feel enough is enough and that if Rishi wants to truly validate his unelected leadership position and support he should move the election forwards to April/May after the release of the spring budget treats.

This present administration is well past its sell-by-date and hopelessly out of touch. Business involvencies are soaring, public services are failing, the NHS is at breaking point, and Councils are going bankrupt. Rather than address any of that, the Tories think a cynical, last-ditch tax bribe to the 'little people' is all that's needed to win another term in office. Too little, too late Rishi. We need a general election now.

All we have seen from the Conservative government since they were elected into power is failure, scandals, lies and u-turns year-after-year.

Public services have been decimated many of which are now beyond the point of repair.

The party of chaos have had their time, we now need a change in government, the sooner the better,

We need an election, the sooner the better.

While the market tends to favor certainty, the frequent turnover of prime ministers in the country, coupled with their struggle to make decisive decisions and scandals, raises concerns that the situation may be more chaotic than stable.

Small business owners are counting down the days until the next election.

Since Boris Johnson went to work on Thursday 12 December 2019, small firms and the self-employed have been decimated by a constant barrage of government-inflicted body-blows: Covid lockdowns, Brexit-related supply chain issues and staffing woes, out-of-control inflation, and sky-high interest rates, culminating in a cost-of-living crisis.

Small businesses are ceasing to trade at a rate not seen since the global financial crisis. If small firms are lucky enough to turn any profit, they find themselves taxed more than ever before - while large companies are handed huge tax breaks.

Small businesses just can't take any more.

It seems that the current government is completely stagnant and devoid of ideas to boost much needed growth. With only the opposition seeming to offer a long term vision to build a better country, bring a divided nation together, get the shit out our rivers, transition to being a bit greener and mend the damage of the last 13 years let's let them get on with it. It's not like they could do a worse job if they tried.

I would love to see a general election called. The country is in such a poor state of affairs. We are a developed country and yet we have levls of poverty and homeslessness beyond belief. We have a third PM in place who was not voted in for by the country and they seem further from the truth and reality of everyday peoples lives than they ever have. Im not sure if any of the other parties would be much better, this is my fear for the country. We need a complete reset where the Government simply looks at its role as "How can we improve the lives of our citizens"
