Our team do wills and estate planning. We know the impacts of getting it wrong as I also practice in contentious probate matters - basically where people argue over estates. These are often caused by badly drafted wills. We do wills ranging from working with the Free Wills Network through to cross-border highly complex wills.

If you have any assets (even those that would only come into play on death, such as life assurance) and / or children you absolutely need to write a Will and you are never to young to have one. Not having a Will can cause untold stress and worry for those left behind dealing with the consequences.

What's involved? I'd argue far too much at present! Wills must be in writing, signed by the person making the Will in the presence of two witnesses. Wills are still written under legislation dating back to 1837, so things haven't exactly kept up with the pace of modern technology. Whilst it's possible to write your Will using an online service, your Will is only valid at present as a physical signed document and we must be able to locate this after your death in order for it to take effect.

I personally nearly died myself (having been nearly killed by a pebble of all things) at the age of 44 ---- getting your house in order is absolutely imperative, you're never too young !!!
