A journalist on the Daily Telegraph urgently needs to speak with an expert about people working past retirement age or coming out of retirement and back into the workforce. This is a light hearted feature so preferably won't be about retirees struggling for money, but rather wanting to keep working because they enjoy it and are not ready for a life of retirement. I currently have a client that wants to work as long as he is able, he loves his job and the employers seem likely to keep him as long as he is fit enough for the job. Trying to find a lender that thought that way was a challenge, however, I found one and the client is in the process of getting his new home. I wish we had more flexibility on this as more people are working into retirement age. Mainly as they are either lonely at home or want to stay away from their partner.

Retirement is a fluid concept - its a goal with an impossible target date. Its different for everyone - we've got 20 somethings wanting to retire at 40 because life is already too hard and 70 somethings being told by a 20 something they should really have given up work by now and are too old to get a mortgage!
