What happens to your old hard drives, routers and tech?
I'm writing an article for BBC News Online about ewaste. I'd love to hear from a business in any sector about how they dispose of their old tech with data on (e.g. computers, drives, servers, routers). Do you smash hard drives with a mallet to make sure your customer data doesn't leak? Do you do a secure erase and then send it for recycling? Do you engage a secure recycling facility to solve it all for you?
In the first instance, could you please just tell me a bit about your company (and the data you have), what you do with your old tech, and why. I may then ask to follow up with a video call.
I am also interested in talking to a company involved in tech recycling, so if that's you, please do get in touch.
You can see some of my previous articles at www.sean.co.uk/a/index.shtm.
Thank you!
