I started my journey in IT, when i was studying economics at Loughborough University. I became the IT guy for my block, and quickly for half of the university. We even developed links between buildings for mass gaming events. Once i graduated i worked in a local pharmaceutical IT department, quickly outgrowing my position, and moving to their IT consultants, where i became helpdesk manager within a year. I mastered several different areas of the business, from account managers to the finance team, and before i knew it I was running the day to day business. I realised that in order to grow further, and allow me to further improve the work i could do for clients, i needed the freedom of my own business, so i formed Liberate IT, quickly recruiting the best engineers i had worked with through my career. With a goal of removing the shackles of typical outsourced IT departments, we have now grown to a 5 strong team. We don't use any salesman, or account managers, we are a team of pure engineers. We don't tie ourselves down to one vendor, we benefit from the most competitive pricing across the market, and can pick from any solution available, to suit our clients. Now we've been in business 6 years, my ambitions for Liberate IT continue to grow, looking at our own premisies, research team and web/software developers. So we can bring everything a small business needs, under one roof.
