The BIG one. Q3 GDP

ended 13. November 2025

Tomorrow morning at sparrow's fart - 07:00 - we get the latest snapshot of the economy in the form of Q3 GDP. We'll be doing an alert on the hard data in the morning. It will probably be grim if this week's unemployment data is anything to go by. In the meantime, a LOT of journalists have asked us for short video clips from business owners sharing their views on the state of the economy at present. Video uploads are working perfectly on both Android and iOS and you can even upload vids from your desktop if need be (30 seconds max) — so have at it. Get us your videos tonight or by tomorrow AM by 08:30. All you need to do is record a quick reel on how the economy feels for you right now and why — and how confident you are feeling ahead of the Budget and as we head into 2026.

A 0.1% rise in GDP is nothing to celebrate. It’s the sound of an economy gasping for air while ministers claim victory for keeping the patient alive. Growth this weak shows exactly what happens when a government runs out of ideas and confidence. Manufacturing is down, construction is flat, and real GDP per head hasn’t moved. Services are holding things together by a thread, while the sectors that actually build long-term wealth are shrinking. And all this in the same week that 18,000 NHS redundancies are signed off and dividend tax hikes are being planned. What kind of strategy is that? Tax people more, break the services they pay for, and punish the wealth creators who could fix this mess. It’s not bad luck. It’s bad leadership. The truth is simple. There is no plan, no vision, and no clue. It’s time for this government to step aside.
