Action for Children’s flagship fundraiser Boycott your Bed is put at risk by yet another train strike putting hundreds of thousands of pounds of vital fundraising at risk.One of the most important fundraising events in the children’s charities calendar boycott your bed has been out into turmoil by train strike on Saturday 8th September.&nbsp;For the last 25 years, Action for Children has challenged people to give up their bed for a night, raising an incredible £13 million along the way. This simple act has had a huge impact on children, young people and their families across the UK.Now, after a two-year absence, the live sleep out is back.Boycott your Bed: Live is an opportunity for corporate teams to come together – with both colleagues and peers – and fundraise for vulnerable children across the UKSimultaneous events in London, Leeds, Belfast, or for the really brave an autumnal night in Glasgow. A community of people giving up one night’s sleep to raise vital funds to support vulnerable children in the UK. The corporate sleepout includes representatives from Microsoft, Burberry, Clive Henry Group, Capita and Salesforce to name just a few.&nbsp; &nbsp;Right now, there are 3.9 million UK children locked in poverty. And with the cost of living crisis spiraling out of control, they’re even more vulnerable. Tonight, children all over the UK will go to sleep hungry. We can offer the right mental health support, so children thrive.Growing up in poverty is one of the biggest barriers a child can face. There has been a national train strike announced for 8th October, which could impact on participants' return journeys which is predicted to reduce attendance and ultimately impact the fundraising which is so vital to the event.Sam Alsop-Hall is the Co-Chair of the fundraising event and also Co-Owner of the Clive Henry Group which includes Woodrow Mercer, Mprove and Tech Canal. His team have raised over £10,000 for the event which has already raised £150,000 for the charity, but he’s now concerned by the potential impact of the strikes “We’re delighted to be past the £150k mark, but 70% of the fundraising happens on the night and in the weeks afterwards - this train strike has proved to be a real spanner in the works and could make the event less profitable for the charity who have dedicated so much time and resources to making it a success”The Charity are now looking for additional donations to make up the shortfall caused by the train strikers.&nbsp;<blockquote>Strikers need to consider the societal impact they are having which is often hidden but significant</blockquote>
