ONS employment stats - Economic inactivity due to long-term sickness at record high
The latest ONS labour market data has just been published. Although the number of people economically inactive fell in the latest quarter, those inactive due to long-term sickness increased to a record high.
It would be good to get your thoughts on the following Qs:
- What impact is rising economic inactivity due to long-term sickness having on the workforce?
- What, if anything, can be done to reverse this trend?
- Have you seen more people off work long term due to mental health issues such as depression, anxiety and stress?
