Upcycling artist (and former Teenage Pregnancy Coordinator) makes art out of old sportswearOld swim hats don’t have much of a use – unless you’re an upcycling artist who has a talent for making sculptures of outdoorsy people from other peoples rubbish.Jackie who was a Teenage Pregnancy Coordinator came across the idea of using other peoples throw away rubbish in a unique way when she came across some vintage bus tickets at a car boot sale, she took them home and after some consideration , she used them to make pictures of people waiting at bus stops.Not long after that she saw that her neighbour &nbsp;had put some old fence post wire out for the scrap man and she decided that it could be used to experiment with 3 &nbsp;dimensional sculptures - &nbsp;and as she’s surrounded by outdoorsy people she found a ready supply of worn out sports clothes to dress the sculptures in.Swim hats get a new lease of life as attire for &nbsp;tiny triathletes and divers, but that’s not all…Old out of date maps become props for walkers and fell runners, bicycle gas cannisters become air tanks for scuba divers, segments of bike chain make great climbing karabiners or even goggles, and old tents are perfect for becoming waterproof coats for dog walkers.
