How can freelancers cut down on rising energy costs?

My name is Rebecca Thompson and I am the founder of ‘The Sea Glass Company’. I am based in the lovely county of castles, country and stunning coastline; Northumberland. I design and create bespoke sea glass jewellery and also use the inspiration of the coast to create other mediums such as silver clay, one-wire pictures, resin and fluid art. I enjoy exploring the local beaches of Northumberland, learn about the history of glass and how sea glass, with the help of mother nature, gets its beautiful frosted appearance. It is such a privilege to recycle a truly magnificent medium which man once made and discarded, and the sea gifted back to me. Everyday, I aim to improve my new found creativity and artistry to give it a purpose as well as make it beautiful again.

A 55-year-old woman took regular walks along the Northumberland coast with her husband. Originally from the Midlands, she was always grateful to be next to the ocean and on one particular day during the lockdown, she was shown some hidden treasure that would completely transform her life.&nbsp; She had been shown the amazing medium of recycled glass that nature had taken for decades and gifted back to whoever found it.&nbsp; She was immediately curious and began a journey of discovery.&nbsp;Within six weeks, she taught herself to make jewellery, set up a business, and bought her first tools. &nbsp; Within three months her designs had travelled to America, India, Australia and Spain, and within six months, her community started bringing her their collections, to help her get started.&nbsp; Fast forward two and half years and she’s now featured in a prominent publication, takes people on sea glass safaris and teaches people to make things too.&nbsp; She regularly asks her customers why they choose her and not other more established designers.&nbsp; The overall response is that she doesn’t talk very often about what’s for sale, she shares her passion, the history and many many stories.&nbsp; She said her journey started on that lockdown walk when her inner child danced onto the beach and lit up her world. &nbsp; &nbsp;<blockquote>“It’s never too late to tap into your childhood dreams and let them dance in the room!”</blockquote>
