EVA Travel is a purpose-led tour company founded by Sheila Fitzgerald, built around one belief: that travel should leave the world better than you found it. EVA brings together travellers — predominantly over 50 — who want more from their holidays than sightseeing. Every tour combines authentic travel with meaningful, community-led give back activities, from assembling wheelchairs for landmine survivors in Cambodia to protecting pygmy elephants in Borneo.
Projects are chosen because communities have identified a need, not for a good photograph. Conservation partnerships focus on protection and research, never tourist interaction with confined animals. Carbon offsetting is offered as standard.
EVA's guests are largely solo travellers over 50 with life experience and a genuine desire to engage with the world on its own terms. Many arrive as strangers and leave as firm friends. For those with skills in medicine, teaching, conservation or veterinary work, longer-form placements are also supported.
