Your story ideas, please.
Stories are the lifeblood of Newspage. The more stories you give us, the more media exposure — often with backlinks — you will get.
Yes, newsjacking is one way to get onto the BBC or into the FT or Times, and we do lots of it, inviting you to share your intel and views.
But the stories you give us are the ones that deliver the best publicity for you — as you are central to them.
So if you think you have a story the news media need to write about, or a new angle on a story that they have already written about, just reply to this News Alert and have at it. If it’s sensitive, feel free to email editors@newspage.media.
What we don’t want is people pitching their own products or services, as that’s PR, not a story.
Our agency arm can help with all that (email agency@newspage.media) but what our news team is interested in is data you may have or trends you’re seeing, or events that have happened, which you think are important and need covering.
Equally, if you’re a Newspage Platinum subscriber, you can pitch stories to our growing team of journalists in real time via WhatsApp - and get instant feedback — a highly valuable service in itself.
Meanwhile, Contributing Editors can even create their own News Alerts and work directly alongside our news team. It’s powerful stuff and, as an accredited news agency, we’re now syndicating our stories straight into all major news media.
If you’re a Contributing Editor, on each alert you create your response will be auto-pinned to the top — putting you in pole position and integral to the story. We've landed a number of stories in national and trade media this week that were created by our Contributing Editors.
From 4-5:30pm TODAY, we’re running a live news conference that all Contributing Editors can join and discuss story ideas with Dominic Hiatt, Newspage’s founder, and our Head of News, recently joined from The Sun, Douglas Patient. We'll be holding these news conferences each week moving forward.
If you upgrade to Contributing Editor, you’ll be invited onto the Newspage News Desk and be able to hop on today, or join next week's conference.
