Urgently seeking CASE STUDIES x4

Journalist: Laura Miller, Freelance

ended 03. June 2026

I'm looking for x4 case studies for the money section of the I paper.

I'm keen to speak to case studies – maybe yourself, maybe a client – relevant to the below stories:

What are the unexpected downsides of retiring?

  • What is day-to-day life like without work at the centre, how to manage money without a fixed, regular income?

‘I got the house, he got the pension. Here’s what I wish I’d known before my divorce’

  • Divorced women to talk about how in hindsight they probably walked away with less than they should have

If you think you can help please drop me a line on thatlaurawrites@gmail.com

Would need to be named and pictured but can mention business/ projects.

Thanks!

Laura

I may be able to help from an expert angle, particularly on the retirement and divorce finance pieces. I work with clients around retirement planning, pensions, mortgages and wider financial decision-making, so I see how emotional and practical these transitions can be.

On retirement, one of the biggest shocks is often not just income changing, but identity changing. People spend years planning the pension number, but far less time planning day-to-day structure, spending confidence and how it feels to no longer have salary landing every month.

On divorce, I also think many women underestimate the long-term value of pensions compared with keeping the house, especially where one partner has built up stronger pension provision.

I can comment as Nouran Moustafa, IFA at Roxton Wealth, and can also consider whether any suitable clients would be comfortable being named and pictured.
