"Never be afraid to feel your feelings. We are humans and, as such, have a massive range of complicated emotions available to us. Our moods, like the sea, will ebb and flow. Simply being aware that feelings are states and not traits and will eventually pass can be incredibly powerful. You don't deserve to suffer, though. If you start to feel overwhelmed, it's always okay to reach out to a trusted friend, your GP or a mental health professional."

"There has always been stigma attached to men suffering with mental health issues. Men have long needed to speak up but now, more than ever, real change is required to make the silence a thing of the past. At For Men To Talk, we help men to talk about their problems and issues through a mix of regular café meet-ups, attentive video-call discussions, and reliable group chats. Whether sharing their thoughts, expressing their feelings or describing their emotions, one thing is certain: the shackles of this archaic taboo are at last starting to loosen. It’s time for men to talk. It will change everything."

"Always try to keep your focus on what's happening right now. It's common to try and plan for future situations by thinking about all the 'what ifs' that could arise. This can trigger Anticipatory Anxiety, the same feelings as real-time anxiety but feelings that are about something that may not even happen at all. "Schedule some time for relaxation. A soak in a bubble bath, watching your favourite comedy, doing a spot of gardening or a walk in the fresh air can all be really beneficial in helping to maintain good mental health. "Focus on the positive. Make a list on your phone of anything positive that has happened during the day. Once you've reached 10 things on your list, continue to add new positives to your list each day but keep the list at 10 things by knocking an old one off the top. This way you are continually focused on looking for positives every day. With continued practise this will really help you to manage your thinking well."

"Positive activity, positive interaction, positive thinking and plenty of sleep. You'll produce the neurotransmitters and hormones to help cope with the stresses of life and process the stresses as you sleep."

"Focus every day on finding the 3 Ps: Positive Action, Positive Interaction and Positive Thought. You can also support a better mindset by asking yourself daily, 'What has been good?' Regularly focusing on what's been good increases serotonin production for mentally healthy behaviour."
