The Advisers Assemble podcast is a positioning device, not a revenue generator, we don't have a sponsor, charge for guests, or try and use it to sell anything. It demonstrates our expertise and humanises our brand. This approach has increased our sales more rapidly than any other form of marketing since it's launch in 2019.

The greatest opportunity is to get a 1-hour conversation with a potential client or someone that can open doors for you whilst giving them some exposure in return (You scratch my back right?). Even if nobody listens the connections you create through those interviews are invaluable.

We've grown from 3 listeners (Me, my Mum and an employee) to around 2000 downloads a month after over 250 episodes using Simplecast as a host.

The lowest cost, easiest entry with the most return, podcasting is an essential marketing platform for British businesses.

I started podcasting in 2017, and have recently released my 100th episode.

In that time, I've seen podcasting become far more mainstream - with the majority of small "have a go" business podcasters quitting because the big boys are taking all the market share.

For me, business podcasting is about serving small niches - I don't get anywhere near the volume of listeners that the big boys do, but I serve my very specific, niche audience far better than anyone else.

That means I can't really monetise my podcast via ads, sponsorship or paywalls. Instead, it's part of my lead-generation marketing ecosystem, bringing highly-qualified enquiries into my coaching business, and helping me reach new readers for my books.

County Business TALKS PODCAST with Sam Thomas

I started my podcast in 2021 and interview local business owners and entrepreneurs about their business journey.

I believe everyone has a story to tell, through seeking true, authentic insights about the entrepreneurial journey, I provide a platform for our peers to share their stories and inspire those that listen.

We talk about the highs and the lows of running a business and being an entrepreneur, the good, the bad and everything in between.

Last year I did a 24 hour podcast interviewing 24 guests in 24 hours, including entrepreneurs, sports and TV stars including Olympic champion Sally Gunnell

Later this year I’ll be attempting the world record and recording a 40 hour podcast interviewing 40 guests in 40 hours
