Neapolitan, not vanilla.
There's a perception — among the public and even some journalists — that mortgages are easy and transactional. Every broker knows that's nonsense. On Friday evening (yep, it's all rock and roll here), some of the Editor brokers on our WhatsApp News Desk were discussing how the world doesn't know enough about all the complex cases you all do, day in, day out. Some of the examples given were quite eye-opening in their complexity and show that a good broker knows their onions and is circumnavigating some seriously difficult cases but still getting the deal done. For the trade media: do you feel there's a perception that what brokers do is underestimated? For the consumer-facing media, give us an (anonymised) example of a mortgage you arranged recently that was a serious cluster-you-know-what (it's the Sabbath) but you still managed it.
