Landlord tax schemes
A Newspage broker has alerted us to the existence of a number of new ‘landlord tax schemes’ that he says are targeting desperate landlords who are struggling to break even due to the raft of tax changes and significantly higher interest rates. Curiously, he says some claim to be offering unlimited indemnity, which has a red flag all over it (as does the word ‘scheme’ in general). So a few Qs:
- Have you heard of any of these schemes or had landlord clients approach you about them?
- What are you advising your clients to do if they crop up in conversation?
- Have you got any examples of schemes that are out there currently?
Any other thoughts or insights, jot them down. If you're a Premium user, your response will be edited by a seasoned hack.
