Cash ISA threat for brokers

We ran a story this morning on how the cash ISA limit could potentially impact building societies' lending capacity. It's already being picked up by major news media. But there's another angle. Given that many brokers fear AI and direct models could squeeze the business volumes they do with mainstream lenders in the future, could reduced loan volumes from smaller building societies if the cash ISA limit is cut further turn the screws on brokers (especially specialist brokers)? One broker on Newspage, who looks like someone out of Top Gun (clue: not Goose or Maverick), says brokers are increasingly being forced to move into niches to protect their careers but those very niche ranges are the ones that could be hit by this policy change if it comes into effect.
