Calling all financial advisers to help with FT Adviser/PFS survey on internships

Journalist: Ima Jackson-Obot, FTAdviser

ended 06. December 2025

FT Adviser has launched a survey with the Personal Finance Society to understand adviser attitudes towards internships, and we are calling on advisers to share their views, as part of the Society’s Pathways to the Profession initiative.

We want to hear from advice firms about the support you need to offer internships, the types of candidates you want to attract, and the challenges that can prevent them from hiring interns.

The survey should take approximately 3 minutes.

Launched in July, the PFS Pathways to the Profession initiative aims to support students taking their first step towards gaining their diploma in regulated financial planning.

The scheme is investing £1mn in initiatives designed to attract and nurture talent for the benefit of the financial planning profession.

The PFS said it would also support growth in meaningful internship opportunities by encouraging firms to offer paid placements.

Of the initiative, Carla Brown, president of the PFS, said by investing in talent and creating clear, accessible entry points into the profession, the PFS wanted to demonstrate its commitment to strengthening the future of the financial planning sector.
