Britain needs homes, but developers face planning paralysis and funding friction at every turn. Small and medium builders, in particular, are drowning in red tape while demand for housing skyrockets. If we want to fix the housing crisis, we need to stop strangling supply at source.

Maybe Raynor’s tricky tax tactics might be the catalyst for home building in Britain. After a year of broke promises to get Britain building, a new minister at the helm of the housing crisis may cut bureaucracy for Britain’s home builders when more people than ever are demanding they buy new builds. Addressing the skills shortage in tradesmen is another piece of the puzzle, but this should have been started over a year ago and there would be skilled personnel on sites now.
