Sally founded Mumbler in 2011, initially purely to fulfil her own needs as a new parent. She had moved back to her hometown of Harrogate in 2011, with her husband & toddler in tow, and 4 days after moving she gave birth to her second daughter. She needed to get out & about, find out what was on locally for families and most importantly, make friends! Sally was astonished to discover that the information that she needed wasn't on-line and so she created it, and so the first Mumbler Facebook group, Harrogate Mumbler was born. The group was such a success & gained huge momentum locally so the next logical step was to create a Harrogate Mumbler website, which Sally did in 2012. Mumbler is completely free for parents to use. Revenue is earned from advertising & strategic partnerships with carefully selected brands. In 2014 Sally first explored the idea of franchising the Mumbler brand, firstly in Hull and secondly in York. Fast forward to 2021 on Mumbler has 19 franchises, tracts over 2.5 million visitors annually and has a social media following over over 200,000. Mumbler has always remained true to its roots- helping make family life easier. Sally is immensely proud of the Mumbler team that she has created & the support & help that the Mumbler franchises provide for their local communities.
