Medical Match Makers Go Virtual

Twenty years ago when I was 54, I set up Essentially Medical that provides free Consultant led virtual educational sessions for primary healthcare professionals

The GPs choose from a variety of topics within each clinical area and these now replace face to face meetings. A Certificate of Participation is issued to all attendees.

A local GP said: “This service allows us to keep updating our skills and knowledge in the comfort of our own practice or home. It’s a great way to learn from local Consultants.

It saves the NHS money because after the educational meetings GPs feel able to make informed decisions on a patient’s health, dealing with problems without having to make what is often an expensive referral to a hospital.

I felt there was a gap in the market which I aimed to fill.

I am now 75 and although I sold the business in March, am still very much involved in the day to day running at least until March 2026.
