Had a very odd chat today with a prospective new client who approached us. We discussed the roles they had and I mentioned that I felt they were pitching the salaries well below market rate, and the response was, and I quote "We don't feel we need to increase our salaries in the current market as we think our names sells itself, and people want to work for us" So, dear Employers.... This isn't the 80's, or the 90's or even the noughties. STOP thinking that you do not need to make an effort to attract and retain staff, and treating people like everyone needs a job. Most don't, so you need to up your talent game! Your brand name wont pay peoples bills this winter, and given this business has posted record profits year on year for a while, it makes my mind boggle as to why you would feel a brand name means you can pay your staff a few grand less than your competitors. What is that about!?<blockquote>Employers, you can have this info for free! Time to up your recruitment game!</blockquote>
