Birthing with Confidence
Given my unusual blend of experience and qualifications I offer a tailored approach to anyone wanting to feel better about birth, whether before or after the event.
Spurred by my own experiences and decision-making choices I initially trained for 2 1/2 years to qualify as an Antenatal Teacher in the late 1990s. I subsequently developed and delivered antenatal classes for NCT for over 20 years.
I initially became interested in Counselling training to support and enhance my work with groups of pregnant parents. Once my interest was piqued I decided to continue with further studies until I became qualified as a Counsellor in 2010. I have a small private practice and specialise in pregnancy, birth and adjustment to parenthood.
I trained to become a hypnobirthing practitioner in 2012 driven by a desire to incorporate more self-calming and empowering techniques into birth preparation - skills which are also transferable into daily life. Along with a colleague, we have now developed and launched our own independent hypnobirthing course, tailored to the needs of the clients.
In 2021 I published my first e-book(let) to help people understand and manage anxiety better. It began as an information sheet for counselling clients but ended up growing and evolving into its present form. My e-booklet is available from Amazon https://www.amazon.co.uk/Anxiety-like-Smoke-Alarm-reduce-ebook/dp/B09DHY28ND/
I have provided antenatal education for a number for organisations as well as privately. I have provided workshops/training for student midwives (breathing/relaxation, teaching antenatal classes, working with "high risk" pregnancy), student counsellors (creative approaches to counselling and personal development) and hypnobirthing students (physiology of birth).

Corporate platitudes are the worst of all evils faced by small businesses - I should knowI’ve lost count of the companies that have demanded I use the word “disruptive” to describe themselves - they’re about as disruptive as a cup of camomile tea.
