Saudi Arabia is quickly becoming a must-see destination for the adventurous traveler. Having long been both a vacation and pilgrimage destination for locals and GCC (Gulf Co-operation Council) nationals, only recently has there been development to increase appeal to the international guest. Saudi has chosen Al Ula as one of the first places to develop and when you consider the history and stunning scenery in this area you can see they have made a wise choice. A visit to Hegra takes you around several Nabataean tombs as well as a renovated Hejaz Railway Station, all set in a fantastic landscape. If you prefer your sightseeing experience to be rawer and even more authentic, then Saudi has so many natural wonders to explore. The magnificent canyon of Wadi Disah will take your breath away with it's sheer scale and beauty, and many tour operators offer daytrips here.
