Portsmouth based teamwork expert Pam Hamilton, author of "Supercharged Teams" says that before Covid we were all working too hard, too fast, with stretched resources, and it wasn’t sustainable. When everything around us changed, we were forced to re-evaluate even our most basic assumptions around work. She believes that rather than going back to "normal", we can create a better normal instead. Whether fighting through rush hour to do fixed office hours, or travelling long distances for short meetings that could be done via Zoom, she challenges teams to think about what doesn’t need to return to the office when we get back. Most importantly she says managers should resist creating a new set of rigid rules before teams have had time to try new ways of doing things - give everyone time to experiment with different working patterns to see what works best for people. &nbsp;<blockquote>"The is a once in a lifetime opportunity to change the way we work for the better - let's not waste it"</blockquote>

Small Portsmouth based company Paraffin has won a prestigious Queen's Award for International business. &nbsp;The business was founded in 2012 by Pam Hamilton, business author and specialist in in-person and online workshops. &nbsp;The company employs just four people plus external associates, and managed to grow so much that they qualified for an international trade award.&nbsp;The award reflects the impact they have had in creating positive cultural change through learning and capabilities for some of the biggest businesses and organisations in the world, including Unilever, Diageo and the United Nations. &nbsp;Pam's latest work is a book called ‘Supercharged Teams: 30 Tools of Great Teamwork’, which aims to give anyone, in any team across the world, in any type of organisation, the tools to make their teams work better together.The company has also been applying their work and tools locally to solve important local issues such as childhood obesity, rough sleeping and rebuilding communities shattered by tragedy. &nbsp;Paraffin wins the Queen’s Award for International Trade for Outstanding Short Term Growth in overseas sales over the last three years. &nbsp;<blockquote>We are just delighted that our work has been recognised by The Queen.
