TSB for intermediaries new rates

ended 08. February 2023

A Newspage broker has just alerted us to the fact that, from, Friday 10 February, TSB (Intermediaries) is making further reductions to selected Residential rates, including the launch of a competitive 2-Year Fixed rate at4.44%, available for existing homeowners looking to Remortgage. It's also reducing selected Product Transfer Fixed rates, starting from 4.14%. You'll know more about this than me, so fire away. What are your thoughts on this? Is this a decent 2-year fix? At this rate, will there be a sub-4% 2-year fix before the summer (if not earlier)? Answers on a postcard…

The rate war is hotting up and it's great to see TSB throw their hat into the ring long may it continue as the biggest winners are the clients .

TSB, Virgin and HSBC all currently have rates at 4.4 something- it’s a great indication that rates may come down further than where they are now but short term swap rates have been higher than long term rates so I believe it will be a while before we see 2yr rates below 3% but we could well be there by the summer.
