Social media: Twitter versus Mastodon

Journalist: Anna Sagar, Mortgage Solutions / Specialist Lending Solutions

Interested in speaking to mortgage brokers about social media platforms they use and why.

  1. Which social media platforms do you use for your business? Are there any you use to network with mortgage brokers and others to attract customers?
  2. What do customers reach out to you most on? Is there a generational difference?
  3. Do you think you will use new platforms like Mastodon? Or stick with platforms like Twitter?

We use Facebook, Instagram & Tik-Tok, We publish content daily, I would say at least 80% of our business came through Facebook. I try to avoid Linkedin as there's only enough room in my life for 1 pretentious arsehole and I fit that bill already. Social Media is a powerful tool and if used correctly can save a massive amount of resources being spent on Marketing firms. I will be completely honest, I Thought Mastodon was the bad guy in Power Rangers, not a social media platform!

My business thrives on Instagram, Tiktok and Facebook. I can't stand Twitter and although I tried Mastadon, I think it needs some fine-tuning before it reaches the right age group to consider mortgages. New platforms will always be juped on by the school-age people due to it being the new 'in thing'. It usually takes a while for the adult generation to move over which, just makes the kids move to a new platform! We are all just trying to stop our parents see our fun side after all!
