Ransomware attacks - Have you had a near miss or been a victim?

A journalist at iNews is working on an article about ransomware attacks and is looking to talk to anyone who has been a victim, was able to fend off, or had a near miss with a ransomware attack.

I've recently found out one of my emails had a breach and my password was at risk. I found out through a friend and I was able to check whether my email was breached through an online site. Thanks to being a bit paranoid and acting quickly I managed to change all my passwords. Luckily, I did not use the same passwords for several places otherwise there would've been a potential loss of important files and data.
