I'm looking to get comments from estate agents/conveyancers about how they are dealing with completions that were due next Monday given the state funeral/bank holiday

Have you had many calls of this nature. What advice are you giving to buyers/sellers

This is for trade title Estate Agent Today

Unfortunately, this is completely out of the Estate Agents and Mortgage advisors hands. Many Conveyancers will not be open, or the Banks in order to transfer funds. This is a one off situation, the likes we have never seen before. I think Buyers should be sypathetic in the knowledge that this is no fault of the Estate Agents and as an unprecedented event, should be treated as such. Sometimes there are bigger things in Life than completion day, this happens to be one of them.

There is very little a conveyancer can do at this point if everyone else in the process is off for a bank holiday, and in most cases, completions tend to take place on a Friday and with this being a funeral of the head of state a day either way won't cause alarm or distress to anyone.
