Prepayment meters 

I’ve recently let a property to a friend who has come from a flat that had her on a pre-payment meter. She was so worried about the cost of energy that rather keep the bill in her name, it was been put under her son’s name to save on the cost of fuel. The energy company insisted a pre-payment meter was used if the account remained in her name. It seems ludicrous that those most struggling are penalised with higher priced energy, making the problem worse.
