Peer-to-peer lending case study

Journalist: Marc Shoffman, Freelance

ended 15. July 2022

I am looking for a case study of a peer-to-peer investor for the next print issue of Peer2Peer Finance News. Keen to talk to someone who is a regular P2P investor and has made money out of it.

Would want to discuss your reasons for investing, the platforms you use, how your portfolio has performed and your view on the sector.

Also happy to chat with IFAs/financial advisers who recommended P2P lending.

Advias is financing a commercial barn conversion into 2 offices and 2 residential units with the use of a peer-to-peer lender. The property is located in Dorset and is grade 2 listed which not all lenders are keen on. We also required a 3 year development to term loan to allow the developer to finish the project and tenant the property, thereby maximising the commercial valuation before either refinancing or selling. The specialist lender is focused on the west country and offers term facilities of up to 5 years, which ideal. They are keen on the location where others are hesitant. Lending decisions are quick and lending terms highly reasonable at 8% per annum for development finance.
