New subscription tier - Contributing Editor - now live

Our new subscription tier - Contributing Editor - is now live, which has its own colour scheme and ‘Editor’ badge.

As well as doing everything that the Newspage Platinum subscription does, Contributing Editors can create News Alerts themselves direct from their Newspage and effectively drive stories across major news media.

It’s already proving really powerful. This week, for example, trader David Belle created a News Alert on the price of gold, got views from seven other financial experts and the story ran on the Daily Mail and Thisismoney a few hours later. Have a read if you’ve got two mins to spare.

Importantly, when Contributing Editors create a News Alert and seek views from other experts (which validates the story and adds perspective to it), their comment is set in stone at the top of the News Alert as they’ve done the hard yards. 

Effectively, this new subscription tier is turning experts into journalists who, when they have an idea for a story, can bring it to life by seeking views from their peers. Those who do it regularly enough will even get their own press card under the Newspage umbrella - several of you have one already.

All Contributing Editors are invited onto our exclusive Editors news desk on WhatsApp where they can discuss any story ideas they have with our growing in-house news team — another senior national news journalist is joining us in early June.

Oh, and we don’t expect a specific number of stories from you. Contributing Editors can do as many or as few as they like.
