Mortgage SVRs breach 5% for the first time in 13 years

Afternoon,

Data from Moneyfacts today reveals the average mortgage SVR has breached 5% for the first time in 13 years.

I'm looking for commentary on why now is a good time to remortgage and go for a fix even though average fixed rates are rising.

One million households are on pricey SVRs - why aren't they switching/locking in a fixed rate?

I'd also be interested in receiving calculations showing 5% SVR monthly payment and the possible savings available when switching to an average 2, 5 and 10 year mortgage fix.

Have you helped many clients recently move from SVR to a fix?

Any other relevant comments or trends would also be appreciated.

I'll be publishing before 4pm. Many thanks, Paloma
