MoneyWeek article- FTSE 100 hits a record high

Hi

I am writing a piece for MoneyWeek on the FTSE 100 hitting a record high this week.

Looking for views on how investors should react. What has driven the rise?

Is it a good time to keep buying into the UK market or is there a risk that prices could fall? Were UK equities previously undervalued?

Which part of the UK stockmarket is it best to invest in at the moment?

Despite its recent record highs, the FTSE 100 Index has underperformed compared to many major stock markets over the last five years. It has been, and remains, arguably undervalued, particularly when compared to the US market. The recent uptick is likely part of a broader rise in Western markets. It may also reflect investors recognising the deep value currently present in the UK market relative to others.

It seems like not so long ago that everyone was writing off the FTSE 100. And it won't be too long until they are doing the same again. There is nothing as fickle as an investor chasing new highs.
