Make money from the news
Alongside our alerts, which enable people to share their views on breaking news, Newspage is now selling lifestyle and human interest stories to the national media — and you can make money from it if you send us a story that flies.
We’ll give you a percentage of whatever we charge media outlets, which can range from a couple of hundred pounds to tens of thousands of pounds.
Whatever your reason for sharing your story, whether that’s raising awareness of an important issue with a wider audience, seeking compensation if a company or organisation has let you down, or simply to cash in on something you’ve caught on camera, we’d love to hear from you and our news team will carefully consider all stories sent our way.
Below are examples of stories the media will often pay for, but if you have one that’s not on the list but you feel has got legs, send it to us anyway. To ensure your story is kept under wraps, send us a brief summary along with any accompanying photos or video links to stories@newspage.media. We’ll get back to you on the same working day with feedback.
If your story has got legs, we’ll agree the percentage up front and pay you upon, or shortly after, publication.
- You, or someone you know, has been a victim of a financial scam and your bank won’t reimburse you
- Travel and holiday nightmares, from hotel disasters and airport queues to turbulent flights and drunk passengers
- You, or someone you know, has got an amazing but undiscovered talent
- A social media post by you, or someone you know, that has gained serious traction or gone viral
- Hospital hell, e.g. being stuck in a foreign hospital and can’t afford the medical bill or repatriation costs
- Calamitous or nonsensical decisions by local councils
- Whistleblowing and corporate malpractice
- Dodgy builders and DIY disasters
- A heartbreaking true life story
- Nightmare neighbours and brazen fly-tipping
- Road rage incidents or dangerous driving caught on your phone
- Shocking service from a high street brand
- Acts of kindness and local heroes
- A video or photo you captured on your phone of something or someone hilarious or bizarre, e.g. the face of a celebrity in a tub of margarine or rude cloud formations (yip, anything can sell)
- An awkward encounter with an MP during the upcoming General Election caught on your Ring doorbell
- A moment of sporting prowess at a non-televised sporting event
- A celebrity doing something, or appearing somewhere, unusual, funny or bizarre
- Undue or unnecessary police force
- Something caught on camera at a major incident
