Latest ONS unemployment data
On Tuesday @ 07:00, the Office for National Statistics is publishing the latest unemployment data. It's unlikely to show a rise in job losses, as the furlough scheme is still in place. What we want to know is:
- Is the Bank of England wildly over-confident when it says unemployment has peaked, given that the furlough scheme is about to end?
- Are companies, in your experience, confident about recruiting, or cautious? Which sectors are strong, and which are weak?
- Are the wheels going to come off the economy in the Autumn, as the furlough scheme comes to an end?
