January 2023 insolvency statistics

ended 13. February 2023

Tomorrow morning at 09:30, the Insolvency Service is publishing the January insolvency data for companies and individuals. This story is likely to get picked up widely by the media as the December data showed a material rise in company insolvencies. If you'd like the chance to be quoted in the local and national media tomorrow, please answer the following questions. Deadline is 20:00 this evening:

  • Have you seen a rise in companies struggling, or entering administration in 2023 to date?
  • Are HMRC and the banks increasingly playing hardball when it comes to collecting monies owed?
  • Do you expect the number of company insolvencies to rise in 2023 given the current economic climate (and which sectors could be hardest hit, e.g. retail, property)?
  • Are you seeing more individuals going bankrupt or being forced to take our IVAs or DROs?
