We're still recommending, and seeing strong demand from our clients to maximise their ISA allowances. However, for those who are funding their ISAs through shares or investments held outside of an ISA; it's important to watch out for any potential gains that are being "crystallised" that could take you above the Capital Gains Tax allowance of £3000. Investments held within an ISA benefit from income and dividends that are free of Income Tax, as well as gains free of Capital Gains Tax. Given the freezing of thresholds and reduciton in tax free allowances, this has made ISAs even more compelling. It's also important not to forget the opportunity that pensions can bring, with many of our clients looking to capitalise on contributions made before the end of the tax year. As ever, it's wise to speak with a financial planner to understand how best to allocate any available investments.
