I need an expert to talk about issues facing smart meters

Yesterday I wrote a story about how people including Jon Sopel were being erroneously charged as much as £30,000 for bills with EDF.

EDF have said this is due to non-specific meter reading errors but have not explained further. It appears a link could be that all these people have a smart meter installed.

I was hoping to talk to a tech, energy or consumer expert to explain issues that smart meters can face and what is causing errors like these?
