Green Mortgages - Are they working?

Hello mortgage advisers! 

I'm interested to hear whether you think lenders have sufficiently upped their game when it comes to ‘green mortgages’ and other offers to encourage a reduction in greenhouse gas emissions arising from property. 

In your experience are clients expressing interest in green mortgages and are there good deals currently available on the market? 

Would you like to see lenders do more in this area?

Green mortgages are a complete waste of time, these are nothing more than advertising gimmicks to give the perception that lenders are doing something for the environment. The cost of getting the property to a standard to meet a green mortgage deal's requirements does not justify the measly benefit you receive. Lenders need to try harder as at the moment it is just greenwashing
