Does your company take their employees on extravagant trips?

ended 07. October 2025

Does your company do corporate training in extraordinary locations? We want to hear about the most extravagant business education experiences.

Investigating the growing trend of ultra-luxury corporate training and conferences that are redefining what business education looks like. From cruise ships to private islands, some companies are investing millions in jaw-dropping locations and experiences that make traditional conference rooms seem prehistoric.

The story so far: Currently 30 of UK travel company Not Just Travel's members are in Tokyo and Kyoto on a training retreat. This November, it is taking 300 of its travel consultants on a corporate training cruise through the Bahamas  - complete with intensive business sessions by day and luxury entertainment by night.

Their members have previously levelled up their businesses while zip-lining through jungles, snorkelling with stingrays in Antigua and Barbados, sailing on an all-inclusive luxury cruise around the Med with Virgin Voyages, and enjoying private butler service in Mauritian villas.

We're looking for comments from companies and business leaders who:

  • Invest in extraordinary locations for corporate training, conferences, or team building
  • Can share examples of the most luxurious or unusual business education experiences they've organised or attended
  • Are willing to discuss the costs, logistics, and business justification for these high-end programmes
  • Can speak to the ROI and effectiveness of luxury training versus traditional methods
  • Have stories of training in exotic locations, unique venues, or with extraordinary experiences

Location extravagance: What's the most extraordinary place you've held corporate training? Private islands, luxury resorts, cruise ships, castles, or other unique venues?

Experience integration: How do you blend serious business training with luxury experiences? Adventure activities, cultural immersion, exclusive access, or VIP treatment?

Investment justification: How do you justify the significant costs to stakeholders? What's the business case for luxury training over budget alternatives?

Results and ROI: Do these experiences actually deliver better business outcomes? Employee retention, performance improvements, or cultural changes?

Industry differences: Are certain sectors more likely to invest in luxury training? Financial services, pharmaceuticals, technology, or franchise operations?

Competitive advantage: Is this becoming essential for attracting and retaining top talent? A recruitment and retention tool disguised as training?

We want the most extreme examples

From helicopter transfers to Michelin-starred catering, private yacht charters to exclusive resort hires - we're looking for the corporate training experiences that sound more like luxury holidays than business education.

We do things differently here. We take our members away to the most luxurious resorts around the globe.

We invest significantly to enable our members to train in luxury. In the past year, we’ve organised over 800 overseas luxury experiences, including trips to
Antigua, Barbados, Mauritius, and Cyprus, to the cultural delights of Ibiza, Rome, and Peru, and on luxury all-inclusive cruises with NCL and Virgin Voyages.

Our retreat programme is costly but generates millions of pounds worth of sales. Every pound spent is rewarded countless times over.”

Many consultants come back from these retreats having ripped up their original business plan and going on to earn five times their previous income. They tell us the trips are more than worth the franchise fee alone. In addition, they sell exponentially more holidays to the destination they've just visited, shared on socials, and fallen in love with. It's a business no-brainer.
