Do you have a business operations manager?

Dear advisers

I'm writing a piece about business operations managers and the role they play in a modern professional advice business.

Do you employ such a role? You might call them assistants, office managers, executive assistants, personal assistants, or even adviser support?

How important are they to the running of your business?

Do you feel you understand the role and its needs?

Would you be open to sending these colleagues on training courses, perhaps to get certified if there was such a thing? Perhaps you do already?

What's your view on the idea that modern advice/planning businesses should be run by an ops manager - they might be called CEO or MD - as opposed to the owner or adviser? Might this bring some efficientcy to the way your firm is run, free up your time and perhaps make it a better run business?

I'd really value your input! Please share all your thoughts on what you think is best practice when it comes to managing the day to day of your business.

Thanks a lot!

Carmen
