What do food cravings actually mean?

A journalist at the Daily Mail is looking for comment from an expert on what food cravings mean, such as how craving chocolate can mean you need magnesium - so it's best to eat nuts.

She's looking for as many examples of cravings as possible and detailed explanations for the particular cravings.

Please give me two examples maximum.

Food cravings are your body OR your mind trying to tell you something.
Sometimes it’s about a missing nutrient, pregnant women in particular are very good at picking up these signals and seeking the correct food.
Other times, the mind may be in distress and what is actually sought is the dopamine we get when we do something that makes us feel good. So feeling bored or sad or angry may lead to cravings for food (or a drink or a cigarette…)
Dealing with food cravings requires mindfulness.
