Construction sector grows by 0.5% in Q4
Construction output is estimated to have increased by 0.5% in Quarter 4 (Oct to Dec) 2024 compared with Quarter 3 (July to Sept) 2024, according to official data published this morning. This came solely from an increase in new work (1.2%), as repair and maintenance fell by 0.4%. Meanwhile, the annual construction output increased by 0.4% in 2024 compared with 2023; this is the fourth consecutive year of annual growth. Does this suggest Britain is finally building again? What are you seeing on the ground?
