Tax-free cash — and the potential scrapping of it — is the key concern among clients at the moment. Personally, I think this is unlikely, as it would be politically devastating for the government. Instead, I suspect the Lifetime Savings Allowance will simply be frozen in time, allowing fiscal drag to slowly erode the real value of the tax-free cash amount.

Is tax free cash going to be restricted is what i'm being asked the most. This has been a rumour for around 20 years now but it's really ramped up in the past couple of years. Only the chancellor and her team know what they're planning but if they go down this route, it would be a hammer blow for pensions. As a nation, we need people to be able to have confidence and prepare for their futures and constantly moving the goalposts does not help anybody.
