Case study/consumer expert request - Boohoo deactivating customer accounts
I am writing a piece for The Sun about Boohoo.com after it has started deactivating customer accounts due to "unusually high returns activity".
They are claiming this was in their terms and conditions but in many cases it has affected premier customers who were paying £7-£10 a year for what was advertised as free and unlimited returns. It was never clear that there was any limit.
This seems to follow a rising trend of online retailers making it harder to return items and introducing fees etc.
I am looking for case studies of people this has happened to.
Also keen on comments from consumer experts on if this is fair and what rights do consumers have if their account is closed?
Is there anything shoppers can do about it? Will this force people to change their shopping habits?
I ideally need comment by around 1030 tomorrow morning. Sorry it is a bit of a tight one..
